What a lash lift and tint actually do

A lash lift is a gentle perm for your natural lashes. A silicone shield curls your lashes up and back from the root, and a setting solution locks that curl in so your lashes hold the shape on their own once you leave. There is nothing added to your lash line. It is all your own hair, just curled to open up your eyes.

A lash tint darkens your natural lashes with a gentle, ophthalmologist-safe dye so the tips read as dark as the base. Lashes that are naturally blonde, light brown, or fading at the tips look noticeably longer and fuller once they are one solid color. Most clients get both done at the same visit, since a lift with pale lash tips still looks unfinished until the tint goes on.

Which One Is Right For You

Lash lift and tint, or extensions?

Both give you lashes you do not have to think about every morning. The difference is what they are actually doing to your natural lash.

i.

Lash Lift & Tint

Works with your own lashes only. Curls and darkens what you already have, no maintenance appointments needed until it grows out, and nothing to remove. The most natural-looking option and the lowest upkeep. Lift $50, tint $40.

ii.

Eyelash Extensions

Individual synthetic lashes bonded to your natural lashes for more length and fullness than your own lashes can give you. Bigger visual change, but it needs a fill every two to three weeks to stay full. See our extensions page for details.

iii.

Who Picks Which

If your own lashes are decent length but pale or straight, a lift and tint is often all you need. If you want dramatically longer or fuller lashes than you naturally grow, extensions get you there. Not sure? Ask at your appointment and we will figure it out together.

Your Appointment

How the appointment runs

A lash lift and tint together take about 45 minutes, start to finish.

  1. 1

    We pick your curl

A quick look at your natural lash length and how much curl will look right on you, then we choose the silicone shield size that matches.

  2. 2

    Lift solution goes on

Your lashes are shaped over the shield and a lifting solution sets the curl at the root. You relax with your eyes closed the whole time.

  3. 3

Tint, if you are adding it

A gentle dye is applied to darken your lashes from root to tip so the color matches the new curl and reads even in every light.

  4. 4

    Rinse and reveal

Everything is removed, your lashes are brushed into place, and you see the result right away. No downtime, no redness, straight back to your day.

Aftercare

Make it last the full six to eight weeks

A lift and tint need almost no upkeep, but a few habits in the first 24 hours matter.

Keep them dry for 24 hours

The setting solution needs time to fully cure. Skip the shower steam, the sauna, and swimming on the day of your appointment.

No rubbing or picking

Let the curl set on its own. Rubbing your eyes in the first day can flatten the lift before it fully takes hold.

Skip the mascara at first

Give it a day before adding mascara back into your routine, and stick with an oil-free formula when you do.

Brush gently each morning

A clean spoolie in the morning keeps the curl looking even as your lashes settle into their new shape over the following days.

While You Are In

Add a brow tint at the same visit

A lot of clients pair their lash lift and tint with a brow tint at $40. Darkening your brows at the same time your lashes go darker keeps everything balanced and saves you a second trip. If your brows need more shape than a tint alone gives you, see our full brow menu for waxing, lamination, and mapping.

Questions

Good to know

How long does a lash lift last?

A lash lift lasts about 6 to 8 weeks, roughly in line with your natural lash growth cycle. It fades out gradually as your lifted lashes shed and grow back in their natural shape, so there is no dramatic end point, just a gentle return to normal.

Does a lash lift damage your natural lashes?

No, not when it is done correctly with the right solution timing for your lash type. It is a gentle process similar to a perm, and your lashes keep growing normally afterward. The main risk with lash lifts is over-processing, which is why we always check your lashes before applying anything.

What is the difference between a lash lift and lash extensions?

A lash lift curls and darkens the lashes you already have and adds nothing. Extensions add individual synthetic lashes on top of your natural ones for more length and fullness than your own lashes provide. A lift is lower maintenance, extensions give a bigger visual change and need regular fills.

Can I wear mascara after a lash lift?

Yes, after the first 24 hours. Stick to an oil-free mascara so you are not undoing the tint or irritating your eyes right after the treatment. Most clients find they need little to no mascara once the lift and tint are done.

How much does a lash lift and tint cost in Sandy?

A lash lift is $50 and a lash tint is $40. Most clients book both together for fuller, darker-looking lashes, and the full appointment runs about 45 minutes.

Is a lash tint safe for my eyes?

Yes, the dye used is formulated for use near the eyes and is applied carefully to avoid contact with the eye itself. Tell us before your appointment if you have any known sensitivities so we can talk through it first.

Can I get a lash lift if I have short lashes?

Usually yes. A lift works with the length you already have, and shorter lashes often show the most visible difference because the curl opens up the eye more noticeably. We will pick the right shield size for your lash length at your appointment.

Should I get a lash lift or extensions?

If your own lashes are a decent length but straight or pale, a lift and tint is often all you need. If you want more length and fullness than your natural lashes can give you, extensions are the better fit. We can talk through it at booking or during your consultation.
